Our Pack is currently meeting at the West Webster Fire Hall. We have approximately 45 Cub Scouts in six Dens. In addition to the great monthly Den meetings, where all of the cubs get together and work on exciting achievements, we also hold many Pack events, such as:
- Pinewood derby race each year
- Family camping overnights each summer in addition to Camp Cutler Adventure Camp
- Blue and Gold celebration banquet each February/March
- Themed monthly Pack meetings
- Campfire picnics in the Fall and Spring
- Bingo night for charity
- Team building night
- Maker Fair
- Community service projects
- Hike or Field trip outing almost every month
For multiple years, our Pack has achieved Gold Level certification in the Boy Scouts of America's Journey to Excellence program which denotes the overall quality of a Pack's program and training of our Pack leadership. The scouting program provides the best youth development opportunity for your son and allows you and your family to "HAVE FUN" with your scout and his friends!

Organization and Meetings
The Cubmaster is the leader of the Pack and plans and coordinates the Cub Scout program for Pack 463, including presiding over the monthly Pack meetings. The Cubmaster guides and supports Den Leaders; coordinates with the Pack Committee on program ideas, leader recruitment, budget planning, interacts with parents and oversees all Pack programs and activities. At the monthly Pack Meetings, which often have different themes, the whole pack meets to have fun and recognize the achievement of the scouts. Depending on what achievements have been earned, there may be special ceremonies. In 2021-2022, most Pack Meetings will be at the West Webster Fire Station 1 on Monday nights.
Each Den Leader works with a specific grade-level group of Cub Scouts, planning and leading den meeting activities that guide the scouts toward accomplishing advancement and elective requirements. The Den Leader also works to prepare the Scouts for their role in the monthly pack meetings. Scouts will ordinarily meet once per month in a Den meeting and may also meet for outings at the Den or Pack level. Scouts work towards a specific rank badge during the year and are called by that rank name. It is expected that each family in a den will take turns helping to organize the monthly den meetings. Den leaders plan the specific dates of the Den meetings, with many dens using Monday nights to keep meetings consistent.
- Lions (Kindergarteners)
- Tigers (first graders)
- Wolves (second graders)
- Bears (third graders)
- Webelos (fourth graders)
- Arrow of Light (fifth graders)
The Pack Committee Chair plans and leads the Pack Committee meetings, maintains relationships between the Pack and the chartered organization representatives, oversees the Pack records and finances and coordinates all activities related to the administration of the Pack. The Committee Chair also recruits adult volunteers to fill leadership and support roles in the pack.
Expectations
- Common courtesy and respect will be shown to each other at all times and is expected by the Scouts, parents, Leaders and guests.
- Parents are responsible for the behavior of their children and guests at all Den and Pack functions.
- A parent or guardian is expected to stay with their son for activities and help run the Den.
- Each family will help their son do some fundraising to support the Pack.
- There is no alcohol allowed at any Scout event or function.
- Smoking is prohibited in front of the Scouts at all Scout functions.
Dues and Costs
Pack 463 collects a one time BSA national registration fee for new scouts (pro rata cost varies depending on when you join during the year) and then $81 annual national recharter fees for registration renewal plus annual insurance fees of $6. We also collect $75 annually for Pack dues to support the local pack costs. As a Pack we also participate in a Popcorn Fundraiser in the Fall. This fundraiser allows us to partially sponsor many of the events throughout the year and covers the costs neckerchiefs, scout handbooks, awards earned throughout the year and many of the pack events. Selling a minimum level of popcorn in our annual fundraiser can waive the cost of individual Pack dues. All Scouts are expected to purchase an official Cub Scout uniform shirt with the appropriate patches.
Applications to join Pack 463 can be submitted at Scouting.org.
